Aurora Magliozzi
Aurora Magliozzi is a Junior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Research Network (IPN) of the Walter Benjamin Kolleg (University of Bern). Her research focuses on literary debates (mufāḫarāt or munāẓarāt) of the Abbasid period. She also serves as Subject Expert in Arabic Literature at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and as vice-director of Maydan. Rivista sui mondi arabi, semitici e islamici.
She completed her Ph.D. in Asian, African, and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” in 2025, with a dissertation entitled “The Dispute over Boys and Girls as Objects of Male Desire in adab Literature (9th–14th Century).” In 2018 she worked as an assistant researcher at the Escuela de Estudios Árabes (EEA-CSIC) in Granada and in 2024 as an associate researcher at the Fachbereich Mittlerer Osten und muslimische Gesellschaften (MOMuG), University of Bern. She studied Arabic in Rabat and Amman, gaining training in both Modern Standard Arabic and dialects.
